You Are Exactly My Brand of Heroine

NOTE: This post includes no outfits of mine (except for two photos), so please feel free to exit this tab now because it is filled with fantastic photos of my friends and art -- not my outfits.

Basically, I fucking love Rachel, Selena, and Isabel. I also love art, flea markets, and ice cream. Those sentences described my past week + I went to go see Grimes and Grouplove with a friend of mine a few days ago, for FREEEEEEEEE! Ya read right. Both concerts rocked and the fact that a stranger had been fondling my hair at the first concert made it extra special. These girls helped me think of a new lookbook location + theme for the update coming to Miracle Eye in early July -- I can assure you it will surprise the majority of you. The theme is going to be out-of-this-universe-different to say the least.

This post contains WAY too many photos. I'm sorry about that, but not really :-)

Don't Finger the Pizza

WTF is life?! Too many fantastic things happened this week. The highlight of them all was attending the Thought Catalog at The Last Bookstore where Bebe Zeva was reading one of her pieces. She wrote a tutorial explaining how to be *twee* and it was so fucking hilarious. The writing was fantastic and I really loved everything about it, from the part about making sure to say sorry if you and your male-friend brushed arms by accident, to wearing the right loafers. So good. I attended the event with Isabel, Sabella, and Madeline! It was an honor to be in the presence of people that night who possess such good taste in food that can appreciate feta and hot sauce for what it truly is!!!!! Heaven!! We all hung out afterwards and laughed the night away.. *eerie laughter slowly fades* Blogger should really offer a little audio option where you can record up to 5 seconds of some noise or voice and include in a post. That would be great. I would include a 'ka ka! ka ka!' bird noise at the end of every post, followed by a farting noise.

This outfit is fo'real the most comfortable thing ever. It was really hot today and I couldn't have felt any less sweaty :-)

Lastly, I want to say thank you to Sophie, from www.darkvice.net, who has supported my brand, Miracle Eye, from the beginning, and rejected an offer from a brand that has ripped off one of my designs, who asked her to edit some photos for them, focusing on the product photos of the design they stole from me. She also wrote this post today regarding stealing and threw her magic graphic design powers on some photos from my shop and this blog. I really, really, appreciate it. I am going to end this post with something my friend told me today about people stealing from other people (creativity wise): The moment people start stealing, the beginning of their end has begun.

Here are some pictures of Thursday night with the almighty David Schilling standing on my left while we were at his pad!

Flowers Grow Out Of My Grave

OKAY LOS ANGELES, WE GET IT. YOU'RE HOT. It was like.. 85-90 degrees today. Dear god. *slowly crawls to bed after opening all windows*

That is all.

I lied. Any Los Angeles natives going to this tomorrow night? I'll be there because Bebe Zeva is going to take the stage (she's a singer, didn't you guys know? Just kidding. She's going to read some rad stuff she's written + answer questions regarding the future of the interwebz.) and I love Bebe Zeva, but a bit less than this guy. I strongly urge you to watch that video. Right now. Watch IT and you will realize you're quite normal after all. Have a wonderful day!

Linnus Spacehead

I just came home from the Melrose Trading Post with my grrrrl Isabel! We found some sweet stuff at equally sweet prices after hagging down the price tag like the stubborn treasure hunters we are! It was a lot of fun. We also both lost our Hellbound virginity.. TOGETHER!! IN PUBLIC!!! Those shoes are smeared all over the blogosphere, but we both ironically have never seen any outside of the computer screen. It was a really exciting moment and we complimented the young lady who was wearing them. She ignored us, but her friend smiled at us like this ---> :-) *sarcastically*

A few days prior, I went to go eat with my friend at a SUPER, and I mean SUUUUUPER elegant = expensive French restaurant in my city. It was SO good and the view was ethereal. The restaurant is located on the roof of an old building filled with lofts just a few blocks from me! It brought back so much nostalgia regarding my spring break France trip with my friends. We had a really great talk and covered topics such as free music concerts, Miracle Eye's future, MY future, street harassment, and my next visit to France. The night was a success.

On a more serious topic, the school year is coming to an end in a mere three weeks! = Summer! = Depression! = But I'm trying to avoid the latter this time around. I will be attending a buckload of events taking place in my city this summer, I will *hopefully* intern at a store Downtown, I will be traveling outside of the country to my favorite country ever ever ever, and I will be taking spontaneous trips with Isabel all over California to go thrifting/watch concerts/have a good fucking time. I'm trying to get a lot of things done within the next few months (July/August) regarding Miracle Eye, and myself, emotionally and mentally. I'm.. excited. After re-evaluating myself, I feel that I'm prepared to face summer, and able to make this one a much better (and happier) one than the ones from the past three years. Wooo! Talk about breaking it down. I hate facing reality most of the time.. I want to live in a utopia where all there is to eat is macaroni and cheese, pizza, and nachos, surrounded by rabbits and Gorillaz, The Shins, and The XX playing all day, just for me. ME ME ME. Ideally also living in a cloud made of fabric patches with the feminist fist, Wednesday, Bobby Hill from King of the Hill, and Beavis and Butthead printed on top.

CAN I JUST GO TO SLEEP ALREADY SO I CAN QUIT TALKIN' AND DREAM ABOUT THIS WONDERLAND ALREADY, MOM? GOD! YOU'RE SOO0O0 ANN0Y!NGGG!!!!11 Y0U JU$T D0N'T UNDERST@ND ME...... UGH..

Oh yeah, I dyed my hair. Forgot to mention that.

This small brooch reminded me of good ol' Leonard from Ugly Americans. I couldn't stop laughing/dancing!
